About Miss Tammie
Tammie Duncan is a very active member by examination series in the following dance organizations:
Dance Educators of America; International Tap Association;Tex-Rep; Texarkana Ballet Company (Board Member), Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council and Dallas Council Dance.
She has studied the Cecchetti method of Dance at Texas Christian University (TCU) and Michigan State University Summer Intensives. She is certified in Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Gymnastics through Dance Educators of America, Miss Tammie has taken Cecchetti and American School of Ballet exams.
She has studied with many well-known professionals,including Joe Tremaine, Gus Giodano, Frank Hatchett, Karen Herbert, Jo Rowan, Al Gilbert, Buster Cooper, Amy Blake, Teresa Espinosa, Tony Lacosa (Tap Dogs) and Dylis Croman.
Tammie travels to many conferences throughout the year to keep up with the latest techniques and trends in the dance world. She is also the Regional Director for National Dance Day, held each year the last week of April.
Many of Miss Tammie’s students have performed in productions at the Perot Theatre in Texarkana, Texas, the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet, Louisiana Dance Theatre, Ballet Arkansas and Henderson State University. Her students have also participated in the Pink Glove Video for Breast Cancer awareness along with Celebrating National Tap Dance Day Each Year.
In addition, each year a group of students from Tammie Duncan School of Dance are selected to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
